When Does Fallout 76 Season 26 End?
Season 26: Beware the Blood Moon launched September 15, 2026 alongside The Slasher update (Patch 70) and Fallout 76's native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release. Bethesda has not published an exact end date, so the countdown above tracks a cadence-based estimate and switches to the official reset time once the next season is dated.
Fallout 76 seasons run on a near-fixed 13-week (91-day) cadence, which puts the expected close for Beware the Blood Moon around mid-December 2026. Times on this page are stated in UTC using the site's standard 14:00 UTC reset estimate.
What's New in Season 26: Beware the Blood Moon
Season 26 arrived on September 15, 2026 with The Slasher, Fallout 76's 28th major update, and the game's first native versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The Slasher story
The Slasher is a Halloween-themed quest line that unfolds week by week. Bodies turn up across Appalachia, clown-masked killers raid settlements and the rumours point to the return of the Pint-Sized Slasher. It starts from the Breaking News station on the Pip-Boy radio, with new developments relayed through The Debunker station. Seasonal fish and matching recipes followed on September 22.
Legacy Seasons and unique item crafting
Legacy Seasons let you work through an older season's rewards alongside the current one. The first to return is Cold Steel, the Armor Ace and the Power Patrol season. Both tracks draw on the same ticket pool; there are no extra challenges, and Legacy rewards must be claimed in order.
The update also lets you swap the legendary mods on unique weapons and armour and add a fourth legendary mod to them.
Season rewards
Ranking up with S.C.O.R.E. from daily and weekly challenges earns 25 tickets per rank, spent on the season pages. The Blood Moon set includes the Blood Moon Weather Control Station, Creepy Cultist Well and Batty Skirt. The premium Fallout 1st Season Pass is included with Fallout 1st or costs 1,500 Atoms.
Before Beware the Blood Moon Ends: What to Finish
Fallout 76 does not wipe characters, so your builds, C.A.M.P. and stash are safe. The season-specific parts are the ones to watch.
- Spend your tickets. Bethesda's support pages say season tickets do not carry over as tickets; unspent ones are converted to Gold Bullion when the next season starts, which is a poor rate for anything you actually wanted.
- Claim the Blood Moon rewards. Beware the Blood Moon items are tied to this season's pages. Pages unlock by rank, so reach the rank you need before the season closes.
- Decide how to split tickets with Cold Steel. Because the Legacy Season shares the same pool, every ticket spent on the old track is one fewer for Season 26 rewards.
- Finish The Slasher chapters. The quest line is presented as a seasonal horror event that runs for several weeks, so play each weekly chapter while it is live.
What Comes Next After Beware the Blood Moon
Season 27 and the winter update have not been announced. Bethesda no longer publishes a yearly roadmap; it posts a seasonal Community Calendar and names the next season and update close to launch, usually on fallout.bethesda.net and in the patch notes. Until then, the next season's start date is an estimate based on the usual quarterly rhythm.
Legacy Seasons are set up to run beside each new regular season, so the next season should also bring a new classic track to replay; Bethesda has not said which one.
Fallout 76 Season End Date History
Recent Fallout 76 seasons: Season 25: Appalachia Under Siege ran 105 days (Jun 2 – Sep 15, 2026), Season 24: Cryptids from Beyond the Cosmos ran 91 days (Mar 3 – Jun 2, 2026), Season 23: Blood x Rust ran 91 days (Dec 2, 2025 – Mar 3, 2026), and Season 22: Appalachian Modern Living ran 91 days (Sep 2 – Dec 2, 2025).
