What's New in Curse of the Allflame
Path of Exile 3.29 went live on July 24, 2026 in Standard, Hardcore and Solo Self-Found versions of the Curse of the Allflame challenge league. All three share the same mechanics and items.
Lost Charts, Voyages and the sea floor
Every zone holds a Lost Charts treasure guarded by Undead, Rival Corsairs or creatures of the deep. Beating the guards drops loot and a Chart. Charts are used aboard Valerie's ship, the Sovereign, which is the league hub: you start Charts and Voyages there and collect items sent up from the depths. A Bathysphere carries you to the ocean floor, where each Allflame Lantern pushes the water back to make a temporary safe zone. The ship's Allflame Crafting Bench, run by Vesper, rolls several possible outcomes from one craft and lets you keep the best.
Sockets, Abyss, Legion and Talismans
Socket colours no longer restrict gems: any Skill Gem fits any socket, and a colour match adds +10% Quality. Abyss pits now spawn already open and fill with souls from nearby kills, and Abyssal Jewels and Stygian Vises drop only from Abyss. Breaking out 90% of a Legion encounter releases the rest, splinters drop in bigger stacks, and new Stygial Unique Items are exclusive to Legion. Talismans now carry Enchantment modifiers, are no longer corrupted by default, and drop from Red Beasts and Bestiary bosses. A new Abyss pinnacle boss with its own uniques rounds out the endgame.
The Luminary and permanent Mercenaries
The Mercenaries of Trarthus are now core content, but for most builds a hired Mercenary leaves after a set number of areas. The new Scion Ascendancy, the Luminary, is the exception: its Noble Blood node keeps up to three permanent Mercenaries, one fighting beside you and two waiting in your hideout, and they do not count as party members for monster life or loot.
Before Curse of the Allflame Ends: What to Finish
Path of Exile has no paid battle pass with tiers to lose, but the end of a challenge league still changes what you can do.
Challenges
Curse of the Allflame challenges only count while the league is running. Once it closes, progress freezes and the challenge cosmetics for unfinished milestones can no longer be earned.
Kirac's Vault Pass
The Allflame Vault Pass can only be bought during this league, and its cosmetics are exclusive to it. Anything you unlock stays on your account for every league afterwards, so the deadline is about unlocking, not keeping.
Characters, stash and the economy
Nothing is deleted: characters and stash tabs move to their parent league (Standard or Hardcore) when 3.29 closes. What you lose is the fresh economy and the league mechanic itself, so farm Voyages and craft on the Sovereign while they are still in the game.
What Comes Next After Curse of the Allflame
Grinding Gear Games has said another Path of Exile 1 league is coming before Path of Exile 2's full release, but it has not announced a name, a date or the Curse of the Allflame end time. Status: unannounced. GGG usually reveals each expansion in a livestream about a week before launch, as it did with GGG Live on July 16 for 3.29, and posts the current league's end time on its news forum at the same moment. ExileCon 2026 in November is widely expected to host the next reveal.
