Season 21 has no headline Acts. Rare built it around a dense calendar of live events, and its later updates focus on bug fixes, extra events and refinements to Custom Seas. It opened on September 17 with a free access period on every platform, no Game Pass needed for online play.
The Parley Pennant
A new Parley Pennant in the Flag Box tells other crews you want to talk rather than fight. It is only a signal, not a protection: a crew can ignore it and open fire anyway. A launch event rewarded crews who approached three other ships under the pennant with the Parley Proficiency Sails.
Custom Seas upgrades
Custom Seas gains Layouts: place items in the world, pick Save Layout from Game Options, and reload the arrangement later with Open Layout from the Command Menu. Each location holds up to 30 Layouts. Creators can also set the World Time Speed to speed up or slow down the day, and toggle other ships on the Map Table, shown either as Shrouded Ships or with their livery.
Season Pass and Premium Tier
The free Season Pass levels up with Renown and pays out Doubloons, Voyages and cosmetics from the Pirate Emporium archives. The optional Season Pass: Premium Tier, which replaces the old Plunder Pass, costs $9.99 and adds 1,000 Ancient Coins across its levels, the full Mutiny's Mark ship set with a Collector's Figurehead and Sails, and a multiplier on Renown earned.

Season Pass levels
Renown and Season Pass levels belong to Season 21, so any level you have not reached when it ends is gone. Renown comes from ordinary play (visiting islands, hauling treasure, fighting skeletons) and in bigger chunks from daily Deeds and Trials, which are the quickest way to catch up.
Unclaimed rewards
Rewards you earned but did not claim are granted automatically when the season closes. For reward levels that offer a choice of cosmetic, Rare picks a default for you, so claim those yourself if you care which one you get.
