Genshin Impact Version Countdown and End Date

Genshin Impact Version 7.1: A Rekviem for the Underworld launched September 23, 2026 at 03:00 UTC (11:00 AM UTC+8), opening the game's 2026 anniversary window. HoYoverse has not yet posted a formal end-date maintenance notice for 7.1, but Genshin's update cycle has held to an exact 42-day cadence for the last several versions, which places the close at roughly November 4, 2026, the countdown above locks to the official timestamp the moment it is announced.

Version 7.1 carries the Snezhnaya Archon Quest forward: Phase 1 (September 23 – October 13) debuts the region's newest characters, and Phase 2 (October 13 – November 3) reruns Skirk and Escoffier before the Version 7.2 update takes over.

Version 7.1: A Rekviem for the Underworld went live on September 23, 2026 and marks Genshin's sixth anniversary. The Archon Quest leaves Snezhnaya's frozen surface for the Underworld, brings the Traveler face to face with the Tsaritsa and builds toward a confrontation between Dainsleif and Ronova, the Ruler of Death.

Genshin has no account wipe. The deadline covers anniversary rewards, banners, events and the Battle Pass period.

• Limited 5-star selector: you only get the event-exclusive pick if you finish the Version 7.1 Archon Quest in time. Do the quest early instead of leaving it to the last week.
• Anniversary check-in: the 10 Intertwined Fates come from a limited-time login event, so missed days count against you.
• Banners: Vesna and Vodyanitsa leave on October 13, when Phase 2 starts. The Skirk and Escoffier reruns close when the version ends.
• Battle Pass: the current Gnostic Hymn period closes with the version. Claim every unlocked level, including the weapon choice at level 30 on the paid track. Unclaimed rewards are not something to count on later.
• Events and shops: Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon and the other 7.1 events stop giving Primogems when they close. Exchange event currency first.

Version 7.2 is reported as Hour of Ruin: press coverage of the Special Program scheduled for October 23, 2026 carries that title and points to a launch around November 4, 2026. HoYoverse has not yet posted the update maintenance notice, so the date and the character lineup are not confirmed. The broadcast reveals the banners, and the maintenance notice on HoYoLAB fixes the exact update time. Until then, the countdown above is an estimate based on Genshin's usual version cadence.

Recent versions have run on an exact 42-day cycle: Version 7.0: Everwinter Without Mercy (August 12 – September 23, 2026), Version 6.7: Luna VIII (July 1 – August 12, 2026), and Version 6.6: Luna VII (May 20 – July 1, 2026); each ran exactly 42 days.

Because the cadence has held for six consecutive versions, the end of Version 7.1 and the start of the following update can be projected roughly six weeks out even before HoYoverse's official patch announcement.
