How this date is sourced
Recent season cadence: last 2
Hunt: Showdown 1896 Blood Testament is estimated to end around December 4, 2026, based on its 87-day season cadence (verified October 18, 2026). Blood Testament launched September 8, 2026 with Update 2.9, bringing a community-wide "Blood Moon" nightmare to Hunt: Showdown 1896. The three-stage Make Them Bleed Community Event has players worldwide killing monsters, hunting Targets, and interacting with Blood Wells, while the new Siphon burn trait lets you loot a Scarce Trait from a fallen enemy Hunter.
When does Hunt: Showdown 1896 Blood Testament end?
Blood Testament launched on September 8, 2026 with Update 2.9. Crytek has not announced when the Event ends.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 Events run roughly 8 to 13 weeks, so Blood Testament is expected to close in late November or early December 2026. The countdown on this page estimates from that cadence and switches to an exact date the moment Crytek announces one.
What's New in Blood Testament
Blood Testament arrived with Update 2.9 on September 8, 2026, as the twenty-third Event of Hunt: Showdown 1896. The story brings back the Hunter known as Lynch, whose blood serum was meant to channel the Corruption's power and instead leaves those who drink it deformed and craving the blood of other Hunters.
Make Them Bleed and the Blood Moon
The Make Them Bleed Community Event pools points from every player, earned by killing monsters and Targets and by using Blood Wells (one per compound, usable once per team). Its three stages unlocked, in order: the Blood Moon time of day, which swings between an Intense phase with faster, more aggressive monsters and a Dark phase with poor visibility; Chupacabra, a Burn Trait that restores a Health Chunk when you interact with horses, cows or caged animals; and Bloodskin, a two-phase Boss Target tied to Lynch. The community cleared the final stage in the Event's first week.
Siphon
Blood Wells grant Siphon, a Burn Trait paid for with a slice of health. Looting a dead enemy Hunter with Siphon takes one of their Scarce Traits and leaves Siphon behind. It goes for Death Cheat first; for solo players it then prefers Necromancer, which can only be taken from a Hunter in a team. A stolen Death Cheat still works for its original owner for the rest of that round.
The Burgess and the Event Pass
The Burgess is a folding, slide-action shotgun: Size 3, six rounds, slow to equip. Its first unlock sits on the Blood Testament Event Pass, which costs 1,000 Blood Bonds for the premium track and adds Legendary skins, Hunters, weapon charms, inspect animations and profile items. Update 2.9 also nerfs the Hunting Bow, buffs the Terminus, adds LeMat High Velocity ammo, lets Loadouts save Traits and raises Hunter slots from 75 to 100.
Before Blood Testament Ends: What to Finish
Hunt has no ranked season: MMR stars do not reset with an Event. What ends is the Event itself.
Event Pass levels
Pass levels come from weekly challenges covering exploration, objectives, PvE and PvP, so steady play each week beats a late rush. Level skips cost 200 Blood Bonds each if you fall behind. Unlock the Burgess on the pass while it is the only route in.
Event-only mechanics
Blood Wells, the Blood Moon, Chupacabra and the Bloodskin boss arrived as Blood Testament content. Crytek has not said which, if any, stay after the Event, so treat them as limited. If you want Siphon-stolen Death Cheats or a Bloodskin kill on your record, do it while Blood Testament is live.
Blood Bonds
Premium pass levels include Blood Bonds, so finishing the Blood Testament pass returns part of its cost, which you can put toward the next Event Pass.
What Comes Next After Blood Testament
The twenty-fourth Event is unannounced: no name, date or theme yet. Crytek usually teases the next Event on huntshowdown.com and social channels about two weeks before launch, as it did for Blood Testament in late August, and publishes the full patch notes on update day. Whenever Crytek names the next Event, its launch day is also the day Blood Testament closes; until then, the countdown above stays an estimate.
Expect the same shape as recent Events: a new Event Pass sold for Blood Bonds, a story hook and gameplay changes shipped with a numbered update.
How often does Hunt: Showdown 1896 release new Events?
Hunt: Showdown 1896 doesn't run numbered seasons, Crytek ships a named Event every 8 to 13 weeks, each bringing its own limited-time Event Pass, bounties, and map changes.
The previous Event, Road to Hell, ran 91 days (June 9 to September 8, 2026) before Blood Testament replaced it.
