Eight Revamped Heroes
Masha gets the deepest rework: her basic attacks now deal area damage, her second skill is now a blink, and her ultimate stuns before it bursts. Bruno changes almost as much, since his ultimate, Worldie, is now a long-range hook that stuns one hero and drags them to the edge of his attack range instead of bouncing to strip armor.
The other six anniversary heroes, Brody, Kadita, Badang, Clint, Paquito and Luo Yi, received visual reworks rather than kit changes.
Sanctum Island and New Battlefield Effects
Sanctum Island launched Season 42 with a visual overhaul. Three gameplay-altering battlefield effects arrive with the annual map change later in the season:
- Revealing Wisps: pickable wisps that hunt down and reveal hidden enemy heroes nearby.
- Golden Turrets: turrets with more HP that pay out more gold when destroyed.
- Healing Turtle: slaying the Turtle now spawns an ally that pushes a lane and heals teammates close to it.
Anniversary Skins and the Starlight Pass
The anniversary events, running since September 4, hand out free cosmetics including Nana "Stardust Dreamer" (exchanged for 600 anniversary Celebration Coins) and Chou "Starforger's Glory", with Layla's Collector skin "Prismatic Rhythm" scheduled later in the event.
